Description
Great company in Irvine/Lake Forest area is seeking an experienced network administrator to join their team!

Nature and Scope:
This position is responsible for supporting the workstations, desktop and telephone support for all three facilities within organizational policies and procedures by performing the following:

PRIMARY DUTIES

Troubleshooting difficulties with the connection to the internet.
Review server logs and check back-up procedures when servers go down.
Ensure virus definitions are up to date and change tape back-up as needed (10%).
Monitor Even Viewer Directory (30%).
Desktop and telephone support for users (20%).
Various projects, including ISIS server migrations, firewall implementation, research for new technology and parameters for installing (40%).

Other duties as needed include:

Handles problem recognition, research, isolation and follow-up for routine user problems.
Logs and tracks calls using Track-IT software and maintains history logs
Contacts software and hardware vendors to request service for defective products.
Track surf control reports as requested.
Trains users on software or hardware as needed.
Installs personal computers, software and peripheral equipment
Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
Assembles and configures network components and associated services.
Sets up and maintains basic network operations and assist manager as needed
Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common problems
Establishes network users, user environments, directories and security for networks being installed.
Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree (AS) and/or three to five years related experience in an information technology related function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate knowledge of networking, desktop PC, Microsoft Exchange and VPN technologies.
Some understanding of Cisco, Microsoft Networks, Oracle, SMS, OPTIO, Symantec and (HP-UX) UNIX technologies helpful.
Ability to multi-task, very organized and strong relationship manager in addition to being a self-starter and work in an entrepreneurial environment.
Prior experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
MCSE, A+ Certification or Cisco certification is helpful along with membership to Information Technology Association.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical documents and business journals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and/or customers.
