Description
thePlatform is looking for a multi-talented Development Lead for digital media professional services for the enterprise, media & entertainment and finance markets.

Our professional services team manages the development of customized workflow and end-user applications for our customers utilizing our middleware technology platform for digital media publishing. Our solutions become high-profile destinations for noted customers such as CNBC, Microsoft, Comcast, Verizon, and many others.

This is a unique position. The Development Lead will combine a strong development background with project management experience to direct and support the development efforts for several insourced and outsourced projects simultaneously for different customers. Lots of contact with customers and outsourced development teams is involved.

What you'll do:

Provide technical direction to outsourced development teams building customer-specific applications that use thePlatform.
Assist outsourced developers with best practices in working with our SDK.
Evaluate application design and code in outsourced projects.
Define and implement development process for internal staff.
Assist program managers with customer communication as needed.
Work with program managers on effective product design.
Work with project managers to manage resource availability.
Ensure that outsourced projects pass in-house acceptance testing.
Ensure deployment process is followed for hosted applications.
Manage on-site contractors as needed.
What you must bring with you:

At least 7 years of end-to-end experience in the design and development of modern enterprise web applications, including the user interface, application server, and database.
At least 3 years of experience leading a development team through the entire product development lifecycle.
Solid background in .NET, XML, Web Services, and relevant design patterns.
Strong intuition for elegant object-oriented design with C#.
Experience with database schema design, stored procedures, and tuning with SQL Server.
Familiarity with a variety of software development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
Strong customer-facing communication skills.
A passion for design and a drive to get the details right.
A dedication to customer satisfaction.
BS Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
