thePlatform is a middleware Web Service for digital media. It's a hybrid of J2EE and .NET. It's backed by a database and distributed asynchronous services. It's an enterprise product and a 24x7 hosted service receiving millions of hits per day. We've helped our customers connect dozens of technologies and applications to it.

What you'll do:
Design and implement features in collaboration with other developers, QA engineers, and the program manager.
Identify and propose ideas for new components and refactoring.
Document your designs and ideas and review them with the team.
Develop accurate schedule estimates so you do not have to work long hours to meet unrealistic deadlines.
Design database schema and tune SQL.
Unit test early and often.
Stress test and tune the performance of your code.
Respond quickly to critical customer problems.
Influence the direction of thePlatform's products and architecture by contributing your ideas regularly.
What you must bring with you:
At least 5 years of end-to-end experience in the design and development of modern enterprise web applications, including the user interface, application server, and database.
Solid understanding of J2EE, XML, Web Services, and relevant design patterns.
Strong intuition for elegant object-oriented design with Java.
Experience with database schema design, stored procedures, and SQL tuning with SQL Server or Oracle.
Experience with modern web UI technologies such as Struts.
Familiarity with software development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
Strong communication skills.
A passion for design and a drive to get the details right.
A dedication to customer satisfaction.
BS Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
