Description
System Operator PURPOSE Maintains the integrity and monitors all system operations activities of the enterprise's servers and systems, such as, Domino, As400/I series, RS 6000 (Unix), which supports the various operating units of the enterprise. RESPONSIBILITIES Directs the activities of the Domino, As400/I series, RS 6000 staff to include timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems with the user community. Understands the critical processing cycles in detail such as accounting month-end, Job Schedule jobs, Backup jobs, OMS mirroring and any other relevant processing cycles. Works independently to support all Domino, As400/I series, RS 6000 (Unix) servers providing connection services for the entire enterprise. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred or 4-6 years Information Technology operation with supervisory experience. Proficiency with all applicable software programs for Domino, As400/I series, RS 6000 (Unix); working knowledge of scripting; knowledge of standard backup infrastructures; Domino, As400/I series, RS 6000 (Unix) system and program installation; working knowledge of system-level security procedures and familiarity with cryptography tools; experience maintaining servers for standard Internet services such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, mail, web, printing and FTP service. Experience with fault tolerance and disaster recovery design and documentation; in 2nd/3rd tier support; thin client architecture, clients, configuration and installations.
