Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. Perot Systems is currently looking for an ALLSCRIPTS TOUCHWORKS APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST to join our team in Huntington, WV.

Job Responsibilities:
This position will initially support the Allscripts Touchworks EHR application for the new Perot Systems' client in Huntington, West Virginia, then may become part of a leveraged team supporting multiple clients in a new proposed ASP offering of the IDX system. Support will begin with a local version of the EHR at the client site, assist with providing required enhancements and upgrades to benefit the physicians, clinicians and the Perot Systems team to promote improved patient care while creating front and back office workflow efficiencies. Overtime this position may also be included in the support of a proposed ASP platform.

This individual performs system software installations and upgrades system software changes. Tests software updates and patches. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Conducts system analysis, process change management and development for possible improvements of operating system software; designs, develops or recommends new or revised systems or system utilities as necessary. Provides in-depth diagnosis for operation systems software/hardware failures and develops solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of the Allscripts Touchworks EHR
  • Work experience in a large physician practice to gain a full understanding of front and back office functions and how the EHR configuration improvements increases the effectiveness of the user
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PC applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
  • Basic knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9-CM coding
