We have a client located in South Orange County who is in search of Application Support Specialist for a 3-month+ contract opportunity. The selected candidate will utilize technical, data analytics, and business process skills to provide effective and timely Tier II support for designated critical business applications.



MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

--> Develop deep understanding of how designated business applications are used including identifying and internalizing how designated business applications align with associated departmental goals and objectives and working with key users and sponsors of designated business applications to optimize usage and adoption
--> Manage configuration changes, as needed, for designated business applications
--> Maintain back-end databases that support designated business applications
--> Serve in a project management role for smaller projects related to the improvements, releases, patches and upgrades to designated business applications
--> Develop appropriate documentation (e.g. SOPs and work instructions) to optimize system usage and adoption of designated business applications
--> Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relative to the health and adoption of designated business applications and report against those KPIs on a regular basis
--> Develop training materials and execute training programs, as needed, to users of designated business applications
--> Work with vendors of designated business applications through user forums and conferences to better understand application capabilities and strategic directions
--> Assist in capacity planning related to designated business applications

Experience/Skills
--> B.A. / B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, business or equivalent
--> Minimum of 2 years work experience in IT environment
--> Experience with one or more of the following business applications: OpenText=E2=80=99s Livelink, Microsoft Sharepoint Server, Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM)
--> Technical experience with SQL, Unix, NT, or AS-400 tools
--> Programming experience in one or more of the following: SQL, .NET (specifically C#), Java, or Visual Basic
--> Strong written, oral, and other customer communication skills and orientation
