Functional Description:
ACS is looking for a Business Analyst with experience in Operational Reporting to join the Reporting/BI enter of Excellence.

Overview
The Reporting/BI Center of Excellence at ACS delivers the Reporting (Business Intelligtence) needs of our clients. Cognos is the BI tool that is used primarily to deliver operational reports and also meet the AD HOC needs of the clients. We deliver the reporting needs of several applications including the State Medicaid MMIS systems and the State SCHIP programs. On the Medicaid MMIS system, we have a base set of 450 reports that would be delivered with the operational system. The reporting requirements are collected, analysed, report specifications designed and finally developed using the Cognos 8 toolset. We are currently looking for a Reporing BA who can help with gathering and analysing requirements and also help design the layout specifications of the reports

Experience

Experience working in Medicaid systems (MMIS) highly preferred. Knowledge of any one of the following subject areas namely Claims, Third Party Liability, Member, Provider is highly preferred
3+ years of Experience in gathering and analyzing requirements for Applications (preferably Healthcare Claims Processing Systems)
Experience working in gathering and analyzing requirements and designing operational reports that get generated out of the main operational system
Proven experience presenting to Clients and participating in Client Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions.
Ability to lead Client discussions and manage scope issues effectively.
Experience working on Reporting Tools such as Cognos or Business Objects.
Experience in testing and validation of the system per specifications.

Technical Skill Set

Familiarity with SQL (Structured Query Knowledge)
Basic Understanding of Data modeling concepts
Experience working in a data warehousing / ODS environment
Rational Reqpro Skill Set
Working knowledge of Reporting tools like Cognos or Business Objects
Skilled in WORD Documentation

Roles and Responsibilities


Analyze the requirements coming in from the MMIS clients and match the same to what is available in the base system.


Help design and document new Reports based on established standards


Ability to present the technical reporting solution to Clients


Add value to the reporting solution anticipating client’s needs.


Test and validate Cognos reports to ensure that they are developed per specifications
