Fast growing, global company seeks an IT Network Architect. The Architect designs, on a global level, the local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) , Security, and all data communications networks (e.g. routers, switches, Firewalls, etc) and ensures these networks support the company's business needs. Collaborates with all network vendors, responsible for designing, implementing, performance tuning, and disaster recovery of networks. 60% Plans, designs/upgrades, and installs data networks. Develops a long-range plan for data networks and security incorporating industry best practices and current/future technology advances to meet current and future business objectives.Ensures that the networks support the information systems, regulatory compliance and business requirements.Communicates status of telecommunications projects to senior management. 20% Performs analytical, technical, and operational work in the strategic planning, design, installation, and on-going operations of the company data networks and security. Evaluates technologies and products in light of company needs. Interacts with end users to determine hardware and software needs. Selects technologies to meet end user needs.Manage the installation and maintenance of the network and/or existing hardware and software.Monitor network performance to ensure quality and SLA. 10% Mentors security staff and network staff on technologies and theory. 10% Serves as a contact for vendors of equipment and services. Develops relationships with vendors and investigates sources of equipment and services. Evaluates vendor cost and quality of services. Reviews contracts for network/systems support, services, and products.
