Control Systems Engineer

Parsons provides mission critical solutions to the U.S. government. Project
Parsons is supporting a joint venture at the National Energy Technology Laboratories (NETL) in Morgantown, WV. Our engineers, scientists, and technicians provide research facility operational services. In addition, Parsons designs, builds and operates in-house research and development facilities to study various energy and environmental technologies. One of the goals of the NETL is to develop new technologies and approaches that will ensure the safe, clean, and affordable use of fossil energy resources in the United States through the 21st century. By becoming apart of our team, you will be helping our client create a cleaner, more fuel efficient world.

Need
Parsons is seeking a control systems engineer to design diagrams such as Digital Logic, Functional Block, Control Loop and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs). This position entails programming of distributed control systems and logic controllers. The successful candidate will develop graphics for operator displays, instrument installation details, indexes and data sheets as well as equipment specifications. In addition, you will provide database programming and set point calculations to support the research and development activities. You will also participate in the site’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program where the project designs are reviewed, inspections are performed, and corrective actions are identified. The position entails collaborating with client representatives, university researchers as well as a wide variety of scientific and engineering disciplines focused on energy research.

Requirements

5+ years of professional control systems engineering
Previous experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix and SLC controllers, Siemens APACS and QuadLog Safety PLCs
Ability to design and implement safety instrumented systems per ANSI/ISA-84.00.01
BS in Control Systems; Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering; or Engineering Technology
PE in West Virginia preferred
Proof of US citizenship
