Description
Electrical Design Cost Reduction Engineer - responsible for minimizing the total cost of producing the product through new electrical design and redesign. Duties: redesigning components to improve material cost; developing and approving test plans and part quality plans; coordinating new parts and engineering changes with Purchasing, Engineers, Quality Assurance, product planning and external suppliers; approving new projects through the engineering lab and assuring the proper testing is complete to assure the new suppliers / components will be problem free once in production; communicating (verbally and in writing) externally to suppliers and selling ideas and strategies internally across multiple levels of the organization including assembly personnel; managing multiple projects simultaneously; and generating ideas that eliminate cost and can be tracked and implemented on time. Experience/Skills
Education: Bachelor-s degree in an Engineering discipline.

Required Skills: 3+ years engineering design experience in electrical engineering; strong analytical and spreadsheets skills; expertise in supplier processes and cost drivers; strong risk assessment skills; knowledge for the LCCs supply base for gas, electric and electronic components; process flow of components and assembly methodology; outstanding leadership skills including leading supplier resources and cross functional teams; and ISO 9002.
