Description
Our client, a world leader in biometrics, we have a full time position available for a technical support engineer. You will support our proprietary system located at a customer site in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This position requires you to be on-call 24x7.

Valid driver's license required, as well as successful completion of a background check and drug test. Green card holder or U.S. citizen.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Provide application support, system administration, preventive and remedial hardware and software maintenance support for multiple servers and workstations (which use our proprietary software). Most systems run Windows Server, with a few servers running UNIX/AIX.
. Provide first level of support to customer
. Solve software and hardware related problems
. Work with developers on system enhancements

Experience/Skills
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
. Customer support experience to include system administration using Windows server, knowledge of relational databases, TCPIP Networking, and application support.
. Lift 40-60 lbs (ability to move computer equipment).

Highly desired - but not absolutely required:
. Four-year degree in technical field or equivalent levels of experience, or two-year degree with equivalent levels of experience (2 yrs experience = 1 year degree equivalence).
. Two years of prior experience in technical support capacity.
. Two years or more using Windows Server in a professional environment.
. Two years or more of customer support experience.
. UNIX /AIX, SQL database skills, MCSE, programming and/or scripting skills a plus.

Will support the central site at the above address and 65+ workstations located throughout the state, although most sites are in the Santa Fe area. Supporting all police departments, sheriff's offices, school districts, and other government agencies that have our work stations.

Salary: 48-55K with great benefits. This position supports our customers for our products as well as computer, network and software issues.
