Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a SQL Database Developer/Administrator to join our team in Anaheim, CA.
Job Responsibilities:

The Database Developer/Administrator plays a critical role in configuring the Azyxxi system. It assumes a deep familiarity with the database environment and system architecture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand Azyxxi architecture by working closely with the Microsoft resources, communicate that knowledge to documenters, trainers, and other developers and analysts

  • Perform Microsoft SQL Server Administration including a backup and disaster recovery plan.

  • Support application testing, ensuring proper database operation, monitor table, disk utilization, and database fragmentation on a periodic basis and provide documentation.

  • Create and maintain SQL queries, tables and stored procedures and SQL Reports as needed

    Required Skills:
  • 3 yrs experience using Microsoft SQL Server version 2000/2005
  • 1 yr experience with very large-scale database application development and maintenance
  • 3 yrs experience writing SQL queries, Transact SQL, stored procedures and triggers
  • 1 yr experience with configuring systems for clustering and backup/restore processes
  • 1 yr as part of a team supporting Windows 2003 Server administration and Windows Active Directory
  • Mental Characteristics: Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment when assessing the needs of the client and determine the resolution best suited for the situation. Requires a high level of initiative and independence. Handle concurrent or multiple tasks/projects efficiently.
  • Physical Characteristics: Vision sufficient to read standard text, read a computer monitor and to drive; speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably in person, over the telephone and in small groups; independent body mobility to stand, sit, walk, stoop, and bend to access a standard office environment; manual dexterity to use hands, arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and to write. Body strength sufficient to lift up to 25 pounds.

    Desired Skills:
  • 1 Year of healthcare information systems environment in healthcare organization, IT department operations, current database configuration, security practices, and general internal systems architecture and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

    Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification (MCDBA) preferred
