Description
Our client is major retail organization who is in search of a Data Center Manager for a full-time, direct-placement opportunity. Looking for an adaptable, team-oriented candidate who can use their organizational skills to prioritize tasks and communicate with other team members to complete assignments on time and accurately. Selected candidate will be responsible for:

--> Giving work direction to the Operations Administrator and Data Center Operators
--> Manage physical Data Center facility including assisting with site planning, growth capacity, and future project roadmap.
--> Update and maintain Data Center Operations documentation, including a shift check list and detailed procedural documentation.
--> Work with management to develop administration standards.
--> Work with management, Data Center Operators, and Operations Analyst to automate processing.
--> Coordinate all shift schedules to ensure adequate operator coverage 24x7x365.
--> Work with Engineering Group to coordinate all backups and system outages for maintenance activities
--> Work with the Operations staff to ensure they are adequately trained in all areas.
--> Works closely with other teams to ensure store polling and flash processing are completed on time on a daily basis.
--> Ensure all activities are being performed and logged correctly by auditing the completion on a regular basis.
--> In addition to the performance of the job responsibilities, mentioned above, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Manager based on the particular requirements of the operation.

Experience/Skills
--> Must have at least 10 years of data center operations experience in a multi-tiered environment that includes multiple IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems, and Windows servers. Must have at least 5 years experience supervising multiple operators in a multiple shift schedule.
--> Knowledge of Job Schedulers (Robot Scheduler a plus).
--> Knowledge of Report Distribution Tools (SpyView or Broderick a plus).
--> Other tools such as DBU, Hawkeye, BRMS, and Community Manager are a plus.
--> Excellent oral and written communication skills
--> Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
--> Ability to work as a team leader.
--> Ability to build a relationship with the business users as a service provider.
--> Need to physically be able to do heavy lifting, kneeling, bending, and stooping.
