Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a B>Data Center Operations Technician to join our team in Anaheim, CA.

Job Responsibilities:
The Data Operations Technician provides first level Helpdesk support on phones for swing and graveyard shifts. Will also provide operational support for systems hardware, peripherals and software within Perot Systems data centers and related facilities. Identifies, isolates, and resolves problems.
  • Monitor systems consoles for problems, manage systems availability, production scheduling and control, reports distribution, service level support, administration and controls, equipment operation, backup recovery, procedural documentation, and execution of the disaster recovery plan.
  • Manages tape backups and catalogues tapes and backup jobs. Catalogs files and libraries, maintains tapes, disks, floppies, CD's and assorted items
  • Will learn industry standard methods for operational procedures. Assist management in identifying areas of possible automation and/or improvement to provide better customer service and enhance problem resolution techniques.
  • Responsible for controlling access to the Data Center

    Required Skills:
  • Min. 1 year experience in a Data Center or similar environment providing support to clients or customers on the phone.
  • Min. 1 year work experience having to do multiple tasks with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Mental Characteristics: Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment when assessing the needs of the client and determine the resolution best suited for the situation. Requires a high level of initiative and independence. Handle concurrent or multiple tasks/projects efficiently.
  • Physical Characteristics: Vision sufficient to read standard text, read a computer monitor and to drive; speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably in person, over the telephone and in small groups; independent body mobility to stand, sit, walk, stoop, and bend to access a Data Center environment; manual dexterity to use hands, arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and to write. Body strength sufficient to lift up to 25 pounds.

    Desired Skills:
  • Familiar with Brightstor Backup and/or Enterprise Backup process. familiar with media management tools and/or processes
  • Familiar with Action Request System/OPAS or Remedy.
  • Understanding of Mainframe Lights Out process.
  • Healthcare experience.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

    Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
  • A+ Certification desired
  • Network+ preferred
