JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Oracle DBA performs as a member of the Data Administration Team. The Oracle DBA is responsible for the Databases and the Database environment. The DBA provides input to the data model; establish the physical database environment; establish the databases themselves; supports & monitors the databases. This will include installation and support of a large scale simulation database; developing schemas & data structures; Oracle 10g database performance & tuning in a Web enabled environment; database maintenance and support, both SQL and PL/SQL, backup/recovery & testing. The DBA contributes to the development of Data Administration training materials. The DBA communicates with customer's technical staff on a regular basis. The DBA also assists the Application Development Team as needed with Project Level work.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 2+ years experience as an Oracle DBA including 3 months with Oracle 10g.
2. Has PL/SQL programming skills & knowledge,
3. Experienced with database performance tuning in a Web enabled environment
4. Experienced with application performance tuning as it relates to Oracle databases
5. Experienced with database installs, configuration, maintenance, backup and recovery
6. Experience developing logical schemas and physical data structures
7. The DBA must have solid English Language skills including listening, speaking and writing skills.
