Description
The Database Administrator (DBA)/Programmer will provide a centralized data management resource. This includes and is not limited to identification, development, maintenance and conversion of data to database applications that are recognized both specific to the company and industry-wide and can readily be supported by the IT department. These databases will run on a multitude of computer platforms (e.g., PC and AS/400). This position is necessary to support efforts in administering database management for new enterprise applications associated with CRM, Document Scanning and Warehouse Mgmt. System projects. This position will also be instrumental in developing the data dictionary library of our CORE system. This position will report directly to the IT Manager. Additionally, this position will perform other related duties as required. ACCOUNTABILITIES Perform database software installations/updates Troubleshoot database problems Development, maintenance and conversion of databases Thorough knowledge of MS Access, MS SQL, and other relational database(s) Provide user training of database products Provide technical knowledge to accomplish electronic data interfaces Determine database solutions Assist staff with database product compatibility issues Provide the computer user community with technical solutions to inquires Create and maintain a support service relationship with the computer user community JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor degree with 3+ years practical work experience or equivalent work experience preferred. Working knowledge of computer programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Perl, etc.) HTML, Java or .NET development Excellent working experience with web-based programming On-hands experience with scripting programs (e.g., VBA, CGI, etc.) Experience with report writers (e.g., Crystal Reports, Cognos, etc.) Knowledge of several database applications in a multi-platform environment Proficient at database design (e.g., SQL enterprise mgr, schema, front-end GUI, etc.) Strong background in MS Windows operating environments Knowledge of AS/400 system environment Ability to develop and maintain Intranets/Extranets Keen ability to evaluate user requirements and provide a professional data archival product Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong background in use of database tool sets PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
