Description
A well known client of Robert Half Technology in the City of Industry is looking for a mid to senior level SQL DBA. The right Candidate will possess the following attributes:· Performs databases implementation and maintenance through installing and upgrading the databases, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to performance issues.· Optimizes applications and database interfaces to ensure the system is operating efficiently.· Collaborates with application and operational teams and users in the design, development, tuning, and problem resolution of database services.· Manages database backup and recovery.· Installs, configures and manages multiple SQL databases and kernels. · Assists the Lead Database Administrator to establish procedures and implement standards for database environment.· Maintains and administers policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of all SQL databases.· Maintains a relationship with Microsoft and acts as a first point of contact.· Participates in a 24-7-365 second-level support team.· Performs other job duties as needed. REQUIREMENTS Experience & Education· Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 3-5 years of practical technical experience, or a combination of education with equivalent work experience.· Technical experience with MS SQL on HP Intel platforms, TSM and Lightspeed recovery manager. · Extensive experience in various large-scale SQL implementations. Competencies & Skills· Experience with UNIX (AIX 5) and Windows NT/2000/2003 environments.· Knowledge of coding and tuning of SQL.· Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.· Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator. · Upholds and furthers our culture and values. Inquisitiveness and open mind regarding teen music and fashion trends.· Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.· Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
