UPP Business Systems, a national Information Technology consulting firm boasting more than 200 employees working at client sites all across the nation, is now seeking a:MUST HOLD AN ACTIVE DoD SECURITY CLEARANCE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSTION.Desktop Support Technician to perform customer support for network/workstation break/fix calls and other DoD initiated calls for assistance of PC and workstation issues. The Candidate will be responsible for providing high quality level 1 and 2 support on desktops. The principle duties include, but are not limited to the following: Monitoring desktop queue activity to ensure Support Magic tickets are responded to promptly. Disseminating technical troubleshooting steps for known fixes and helping to create technical solutions for the desktop environment. Candidate will participate in special projects such as office computer equipment moves , repair / maintenance of network printers and personal computers, installation / configuration of desktop / laptop software, troubleshooting of network connectivity issues and new employee setups. They should have a high degree of professionalism and strong customer service skills. The candidate must have experience with Microsoft 2000, XP, and Office products. They should also be familiar with scripting and packaging processes for pushing software to various computing devices. Candidate should be at least a junior administrator and understand basic administration of Windows 2000 Servers and Active Directory. They should also be familiar with Microsoft SMS technology and usage. Microsoft certifications such as MCP, MCSA or MCSE are desirable. A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience or Certifications is required. The position requires good verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment. Applicant must be a US Citizen and must qualify for the necessary security clearance.REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: SMS, Windows XP, 20000, Adobe Acrobat, Dell, Oracle, SQL.
