Description
Pointe Technology Group is currently searching for a Java Developer to work on site with our client, Social Security Administration, in Woodlawn, MD. This is a multi-year contract with a competitive annual salary and benefits. All employees subject to criminal/credit background check along with drug screening.

Systems Analyst: Provide analytical support in conversion efforts of legacy systems to JAVA/J2EE application platform. Support in architecture development of new J2EE and WebSphere applications on mainframe z/OS platform.

Required:

Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with six (10) years web application related work experience required. Ten years of additional progressive experience may be substituted for degree.
Extensive analytical experience in computer applications, software development, systems integration, and related disciplines
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Extensive knowledge and experience in gathering requirements and other SDLC documents.
Thorough understanding of iterative software development methods.
Knowledge of JAVA, OO Framework, Struts, XML, JavaScript, CSS
Understanding of Quality Control Processes in the SDLC.
Understanding of z/OS and Sun Solaris Unix Platforms
Understanding of Requirements Definition process
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

Additional desired skills include:

Organizational skills
UML and Visio
CMMi knowledge
Deployment scripting tools and languages
Direct experience with consulting to Federal agencies.
Experience with contextual inquiry methods.
Experience with Section 508 compliance
