Description
Lead Software Test Engineer

We're currently seeking a Lead Software Test Engineer for our client that develops, markets and supports state-of-the-art optical CAD/CAE programs.

The work involves leading product testing efforts with a distributed team as well as manual testing, maintaining suites of automated test cases, and product release testing across multiple hardware platforms.

Testing efforts will be in both Windows and UNIX environments and will involve working directly with Software Development Engineers, Computer Systems Engineers, as well as development Managers.


Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

--Working to identify/modify/monitor testing efforts/needs for product features under development
--Leading the efforts of other test engineers in a distributed team environment
--Provide estimates on testing efforts and report on progress
--Manually testing of software products
--Writing test plans and matrices
--Assessing a GUI for the purpose of creating and documenting manual test scenarios
--Maintenance of the automated testcase suites, including adding new tests, executing tests, and verifying test results
--Creating and maintaining effective defect reports in an on-line database df-tc

Experience/Skills
Requirements of the position:

--Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Physics, Math, Engineering)
--5 + years experience in software testing in both Microsoft Windows and UNIX environments.
--Strong knowledge of software testing concepts and methodologies
--Experience implementing process improvements
--Ability to use additional tools and utilities, such as file comparison, Ghost, Install Analyzer, and source control (ClearCase) is a plus
--Experience using CAD software (ex. SolidWorks) is a plus
