Description
Looking for a Manager of Application Development. This manager will lead the development activities of an enterprise software team. Demonstrate formal management experience and embraces matrix organizational concepts. Manage various personnel and process components of the application development team. Provide timely employee performances feedback and facilitates the development process.
- Establish and manage team structures and operating procedures to ensure stability of the production application environment.
- Perform as the technical team leader on Peoplesoft upgrade from World to Enterprise One (One World)
- Provides technical leadership and mentoring to development staff
- Create and maintain ERP technology roadmap from both a business/functionality and a technical/architecture perspective.
- Provides guidance to project teams consisting of both outsourced consulting resources and company associates.
- Provides project leaders with guidance and input for most day-today projects, and assumes an active leadership role in special projects.
- Manages the application release planning for the various systems.
- Ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, are technically correct, and meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
- Develops training plans and performance objectives that support organizational goals, and provides coworker development.
- Performs as a mentor and coach to the staff.
- Recruits and develops new employees and strives to retain all co-workers
- Responsible for upward project reporting.
- Effectively communicate to different levels within the organization and many types of audiences.
- Often responsible for formal and informal presentations on application development topics.
- Builds solid business partnerships with customers and ensures team members understand the need to maintain customer relationships.
- Maintains an understanding of the business that the application supports.

Experience/Skills
REQUIRED:
- Experience leading custom application software development teams
- Knowledge/Experience with Peoplesoft EnterpriseOne (J.D. Edwards) is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven Project Management experience at the Senior Manager level
- Ability to collaborate with peers and business units
- Formal IT leadership/management experience, especially managing business systems
- Experience with office tools (Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, Word), diagramming tools (Visio) and project management tools (MS Projects) required
PREFERRED:
- Understanding of modern development methodologies such as Rational Unified Process a plus
- Experience implementing effective software development lifecycle controls and mentoring others in leading practices
- E-business/Web (WebSphere) support experience a plus
