Requirements: - Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) - Minimum 5 years Airframe Engineering experience (e.g. Liaison, Design, Strength, Materials & Process). - Stress Liaison or Stress experience in a production environment highly desired - Knowledge of repair techniques and ability to perform in a schedule driven work environment. - Knowledge of Structural Analysis (shear - moment diagrams, beam loading, truss loading, etc.), Static Strength, Fatigue Considerations, Stress Concentration, Bearing and Shear Capability, Equivalent Strength, Tear Out and Damage Tolerance principles Additional Desired Skills: - Experience using FAR Part 25 and Boeing - St. Louis 96X0005 report desired - Familiarity with UGNX3, CADDS 5, AutoCad 2000, CATIA V5, and /or CadKey - Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software Duties: - Analyze and substantiate structural integrity of proposed repair schemes for nonconforming metallic aircraft structure through hand and computer analytical stress methods. - Develop appropriate repair solutions that maintain design certification requirements. - Train with Customer designated Engineering representative to obtain Customer Material Review Board (MRB) approval. - Conducts independent strength, stiffness, stability, and durability analysis on aircraft structure. - Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in aircraft structures in order to recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of company products.
