Microsoft Services is looking for Consultants who have a mix of advanced technology and strategic business acumen. The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and end to end information technology security is also a must. Consultants are key enablers for other consultants and partner staff. They manage the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects. Consultants have a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.

The Consultant helps customer account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing accounts. To accomplish this, Consultants must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. When asked, Consultants help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW). In some cases Consultants will also assist in contract negotiations.

Consultants play a key role in employing and developing partners as part of the overall Microsoft services delivery model. Consultants maintain product group relationships and may act as subject matter experts assisting service line management in definition and development of service and/or solution offerings. They drive technical readiness around particular products / go-to-markets by mentoring consultants and partner staff and sharing best practices. Consultants are able to deliver articulate and effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes.

Experience/Skills

Microsoft is looking for consultants at various levels (Consultants, Senior Consultants, Principal Consultants, and Solution Architects) with a depth in development, infrastructure, or project management technologies.



Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required:



Development:



o Developer Technologies - .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework, Web Services, XML, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WCF, WPF, WWF, InfoPath, Visual Studio.NET


o Information Worker and Collaboration - Sharepoint Portal Server (SPS), Windows SharePoint Server (WSS), Content Manager Server (CMS), Groove, IIS, Office


o Database and Business Intelligence - SQL Server, Transact SQL, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services, SQL XML, Database Replication, Performance and Scalability, Data Warehousing


o Enterprise Application Integration - BizTalk, HIS, Windows Workflow Foundation, Commerce Server


o Enterprise Project Management - Project Management, Project Server, Implementation



Infrastructure:



o OS and Directory - Windows 2000/2003, Directory Services, Active Directory, AD/AM, MIIS, Dfs, Virtual Server, ADFS


o Messaging - Exchange 2000/2003, LDAP, OWA, Clustering, ADC, LCS

o Systems Management - SMS, MOM, patch management, software packaging & distribution, Desktop Deployment


o Security - ISA, Authentication, Authorization Services, KPI, Cryptography, PKI, Rights Management



Project Management:



o PMP Certification, 4+ years project management experience, Microsoft product knowledge, proven experience managing projects of $10M+
