Description
Systems Technicians will be responsible for daily support and monitoring of all production systems/services. The technicians will act as the tier 4 escalation level for customer support issues, and will handle and document all systemic services problems, including troubleshooting, before escalating to the primary system owner for resolution. Systems Technicians will work in the 24x7 Data Operations Center.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Act as 4th level support for customer support issues.
2.Carry out procedures created by Systems owners to attempt to rectify customer problems.
3.Thoroughly document and track all issues in trouble ticketing system.
4.Insure compliance with, and implementation of, approved policies, procedures, and Systems Support objectives, including system uptime.
5.Serve as point of contact for first level support for all issues.
6.Responsible for proper documentation and timely disbursement in support of daily operational activities.

The work shifts are rotating 3 twelve hour days which is a 36 hour week. Shift changes occur every three months and the hours are either 6:00am - 6:00pm or 6:00pm - 6:00am.





Experience/Skills
.1+ years experience in NOC or help-desk environment.
2.Basic familiarity with SUN Solaris systems administration.
3.Basic understanding of common Internet service protocols: DNS, POP-3, IMAP, SMTP, HTTP, NNTP, LDAP, DHCP etc.
4.Basic understanding of IP networks.
5.Familiarity with trouble ticketing system such as Remedy.
6.Familiarity w/Web-based applications.
7.Familiarity with Windows-based operating system and applications.
8.Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and SPC

Other desired skills:
