Job Summary: Reporting to the Network and Security Operations Manager and indirectly to the Security Team Lead, implement and provide level three support for LAN/WAN architectures that include hardware and software methodologies. Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Perform all duties assigned by the IT Operations Manager. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed at all times. Ensure that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. This position will require a minimum of 70% travel.

2. Provide daily Tier 2 and Tier 3 support of the wireless networks and LAN networks.

3. Travel to Company locations coordinating on-site network system operations including installations, monitoring, testing and servicing.

4. Coordinate and facilitate Level 2/3 installations and remediation engagements.

5. Provide training to field operations groups.

6. Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve wireless client and access point issues.

7. Work with field operations and site coordinators to communicate project objectives and status.

8. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.


Educational Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related technology field or equivalent experience required. At least three (3) years of network engineer experience required, with one (1) year in a complex environment. Proficiency with standard server hardware and software, Windows NT and Windows 2000 operating systems is required. Knowledge of TCP/IP communication, firewalls, network security practices, routing principles and protocols, data communication protocols and LAN/WAN technologies is required. The Field Support Engineer should have experience with scanning and troubleshooting tools, protocol analyzers, SMTP relays, Linux, DNS and Microsoft Server 2000/2003. Must be willing to travel as required for this position.df-tc
