Robert Half Technology has uncovered an exciting new opportunity with a client in Greenville, NC seeking a Network Manager. The Hands-on Network Manager is required for a combination of strategic and operations management in a large enterprise network. The position will direct and coordinate network and computerized management information systems and staff. Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. Responsibilities include:
  • Evaluates network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations
  • Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration and installation.
  • Configure network hardware to include routers and switches.
  • Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a wide range of hardware and software in order to maintain network.
  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work
  • Exercises sound professional judgment in analysis of problem in order to: (1) attempt hardware/software solution by phone, or (2) decide proper level of maintenance required to solve problem. The highly skilled candidate will have the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Experience with 24/7 high-availability production environment
    • Willingness to work nights and weekends on an on-call basis to ensure network availability
    • Painstaking attention to detail and thoroughness

    IPv4 • IPv6 • BGP • Wireless protocols (802.11a/b/g, WDS) • SNMP • General network QoS • Source code control (CVS, RCS, Subversion)
