Job Summary: Reporting to the Network and Security Operations Manager and indirectly to the Security Team Lead, implement and provide global level three support for Security/Remote Access architectures that include hardware and software methodologies. Perform all duties assigned by the Network and Security Operations Manager. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed at all times. Ensure that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Review security platform reports to insure service level agreements are met and resolve issues and/or identify issues for others to take action.

3. Coordinate network security system operations including installations, monitoring, testing and servicing.

4. Identify and resolve security problems using the appropriate tools and methodology.

5. Participate in implementation plans for network security projects alongside other team members.

6. Participate in the development of technical directions, standards, architecture and strategies for the security infrastructure.

7. Analyze upgrades and monitor the existing security infrastructure, with focus on firewall systems.

8. Interpret logs and alerts differentiating between real threats and false positives.

9. Perform regular system administration, review logs, resolve security events and install software patches.

10. Ensure proper documentation and regular reporting of security attacks.


Educational Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent education and experience with a minimum of three (3) years security related experience; involving the design, level three network break/fix support, and analysis of network security and systems. A CISSP certification is desired. Candidates should have a solid working knowledge of firewalls, IDP sensors, data communications protocols and LAN/WAN technologies. The Security Engineer should have experience understanding the information in syslog, knowledge of Websense, SMTP relays, Linux and DNS.df-tc
