Position Description
The candidate for this position will be a member of the Future Combat System (FCS) Network Systems and Software Engineering Team supporting design and development of requirements and architecture through integrated sensor-to-display performance analysis within net-centric environment combining hundreds of distributed sensors and displays. The tasks of this position include: Development of system-level performance analysis for end-to-end distributed command and control functions, then sub-allocate to major subsystems for the following major features: Network Management (Network Planning, Key Management, Network Establishment), Distributed Sensor Management, Multi-Sensor Fusion and Common Operating Picture, Situation Understanding (Situation and Threat Assessment), Mission Planning, Objective Planning, Ground-space/Airspace Planning, Maneuver Planning Functions, End-to-end UAV Planning, Command and Control, Collaborative Network Fires Planning, Command and Control. The candidate will participate in Command and Control System/Software Concept Development, Operational Thread Analysis, Mission System Architecture Development, Network-Centric Hardware-Software Integration and Network/Software Performance Analysis. The candidate in this position will work closely with other technical leads to gain an understanding of existing system elements. The candidate will work in a multi-contractor, Boeing led, team environment, coordinating activities within the IPT and across program IPTs (Architecture, Software, Test & Evaluation and Systems Engineering.) Candidate will be an active participant in customer briefings, internal team and management meetings/briefings. This position will require travel and is intended to be primarily based in Huntington Beach, CA. Other Boeing locations like St Louis and Seattle may also be considered for qualified candidates. Current Secret clearance is desired.

Education and/or Experience
Level 5 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14 to 19 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 6 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 20 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 18 years' experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position. Candidate must have strong systems engineering, architecture development, and design background with extensive software design and integration experience in the following areas: Distributed Information systems, Mission Computing Software design, development of Common Operating picture, and Multi-sensor Fusion. Background in Command and Control System/Software Concept Development, and Mission System Architecture Development is required. Experience with established analysis/requirements tools (such as OOD, DOORS, Rational, etc.) is preferred. Specific knowledge of Network-Centric Hardware-Software Integration is desirable along with application/Infrastructure Priority Scheme Design, OS and RTOS resource allocation design and tuning. Knowledge of software/hardware interrelationships to the overall system (e.g., real-time performance, system constraints, and concurrency) is a plus. Knowledge of SOSCOE is desirable. Experience in networking, especially in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networking (MANET) and Quality of Service is preferred. A general background in Linux, database design, XML and Object Oriented Design environment is a plus. Strong skills in development, verification, maintenance and assessment of systems, software development and integration schedules are required.df-tc
