Description
The Network/Systems Technician will be responsible for monitoring, and providing level 1 Incident Management support for all system and network environments supported by TF Operations.
The Global Service Operations Center provides manned support 24x7, 365 days of the year. The successful candidate will be required to work Tuesday -Saturday 9:30am-6:00pm as well as weekends and holidays if needed. Additional overtime is required to support coverage requirements as needed.

This position requires a highly motivated and flexible individual to perform Network/System
Administration within the Thomson Financial 24x7 Global Service Operations Center in Boston. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Administering all activities related to the operations and monitoring of the organization's wide area networks, local area networks and system hosting infrastructure ensuring integrity and reliability of the corporate and production data global network environments.
Monitor systems/networks and validate alarms from monitoring tools, administering first-level troubleshooting and support providing confirmation of issues and events.
They will act as the primary organizational interface with internal clients and remote Support Staff,
providing internal analysis, support and escalation if needed of all network /system related incidents and requests.
This position will primarily provide 1st shift weekend coverage but must be flexible as they will also be expected to provide alternate shift coverage per scheduling requirements.

Experience/Skills
Must possess strong organizational and verbal communication skills. Individual must have the ability to work in a highly visible fast paced environment with minimal supervision a nd major deadline responsibility. Must have a minimum of 2-3 years computer operations experience Must have basic command line UNIX Solaris and Windows OS skills Thorough knowledge of IT environments including LAN/WAN communications, technologies and system hosting infrastructure and platforms is required. Knowledge of HPOV, Netcool, NNM Cisco equipment or CCNA a plus. Requires an AA degree and/or equivalent related experience.
