Description
A new Department for one of the largest University Systems in the State is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to aid in supporting the faculty across Windows XP, Windows Vista and MAC OS X.

Experience/Skills
• Minimum 2 years experience in the support of desktop computers
• Strong knowledge of Desktop operating system specifically Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X
• Experience using imaging technologies such as Ghost
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot Windows and MAC startups, diagnose network access issues, clean Virus\Spyware, install and assist user in the MS Office suite configure Outlook and installing new PCs, MACs and peripherals
• Experience supporting mobile devices such as Blackberry/Treo.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent documentation skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of networking, TCP/IP and common Internet protocols
• Ability to work independently is essential
• Support and troubleshoot VPN client software Expected outcomes
• Establish and document procedures for imaging desktop computers
• Establish and document procedures for installing all the required software ranging from Oracle development tool, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server for Developers to Microsoft Office and anti virus.
• Setup, support and document procedures for managing the training room.
