Description
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

An Oracle certified PL/SQL developer who is interested in related business intelligence disciplines including ETL, BI Reporting, data modeling, data warehousing, and data mining

They must have current experience in Native Dynamic SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, and an Oracle Certification (at least Oracle 9i, preferable up to date for Oracle 10g or 11i)

They must have experience in setting up, maintaining and scheduling database jobs, procedures, functions

They should have experience in writing database analysis reports, and business intelligence (BI) reporting, with Oracle Reports or Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer as a nice to have.



Maintaining and improving existing PL/SQL programs and SQL queries. The improvements include automating manual a series of steps current invoked manually as well as improving query/program performance.

In addition, the person will be programming ways to automatically invoke certain queries.

Given the small size of the team, the developer will be doing the full program life cycle -- including gathering requirements, design, coding, and testing.




REQUIRED:


3-5 years of experience with Bachelors Degree in Database Engineering


Must be willing to work in New Carrollton, MD -- no telecommuting possible

Candidate must be willing to wait to start until interim MBI clearance has been granted to start

U.S. Citizen or permanent resident (no other visa types)

Ability to be cleared by a background investigation that includes examination of tax returns and credit check (must go through investigation even if possess national security clearance)



REQUIRED SKILLS:

Candidate must be primarily an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, with current experience in PL/SQL development

Candidate should have several years of experience in PL/SQL development, upper middle to senior skills. Particular required skills include including writing cursors, dynamic SQL, database links, triggers, packages, reports, etc.

Candidate must be able to use the tune the queries/programs to improve performance

Candidate will be using Oracle 9i for now and Oracle 10g / lli soon as well as the development tool "PL/SQL Developer"

Candidate must have current experience in Oracle Native Dynamic SQL, PL/SQL, SQL

Candidate must have experience in setting up, maintaining and scheduling database jobs, procedures, functions. The person must know effective configuration management of their code as well as writing helpful documentation

The person must be able to communicate in verbal and written format



DESIRED:
Experience in Data Warehousing



DESIRED SKILLS:

Oracle 10g experience

Oracle DBA skill set or certification

Strongly preferred: Oracle PL/SQL Certification (at least 9i, preferable 10g or 11)

Writing automated reports (using tools such as Oracle Reports, Business Objects, Oracle Discoverer) Writing automated procedures and functions

Experience in statistical analysis, data mining, data marts, and data warehousesdf-tc
