Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is a world leader in science and engineering research, with 11 Nobel Prize recipients over the past 75 years, and 59 present members of the National Academy of Sciences. LBNL conducts unclassified research across a wide range of scientific disciplines and hosts four national user facilities.


 


The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is looking for a Senior or Principal Business Analyst possessing a combination of functional and technical expertise to support its PeopleSoft Financials ERP 8.8 modules.   Responsibilities include providing hands-on daily production support to functional managers and users for one or more of the following systems: GL, Project Cost, AP, Grants, Billing/AR and related interfaces. Collaborate with IT to resolve complex systems issues and to plan/test system changes. Gather, document and communicate specifications for process reengineering, system enhancements and upgrades, and user roles/permission lists. Provide QA testing and project leadership. Contribute to the 9.x upgrade planning and execution.



Experience/Skills

Requirements- Senior Analyst:


• Minimum of 5 years of functional business analysis experience supporting one or more of the following PeopleSoft modules: GL, Project Cost, AP, Grants, Billing/AR


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


• Experience making diverse and significant contributions to financial ERP system implementation and enhancement/upgrade projects including the documentation of functional business systems requirements and the development and use of test scripts.


• Consultative and advisory skills; experience developing and sustaining effective cross-functional working relationships; demonstrated experience building consensus across diverse user groups; and communicating systems issues to non-technical staff.


• Prior functional experience in accounting or budget management


• Experience in business process analysis. Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate business process data; advanced data analysis skills; ability to query and analyze computer data and generate reports


 


• Additional requirements – Principal Analyst: In addition to the above qualifications, a minimum of 8 years of relevant business analysis and project management experience, and substantial hands-on experience with ERP financial systems including major system installations, enhancements, and upgrades is required.


 


• Preferred qualifications include functional and technical implementation experience with PeopleSoft Financials release 8.4 or higher; PeopleSoft 9.0 upgrade experience, and  knowledge of and experience using UML to document and communicate business requirements.


• Experience working for a large research organization and/or knowledge of the Laboratory's mission, organization, and operations would be useful


• M.B.A. or similar professional certification or advanced education in Systems, Accounting, or Project Management is desirable.
