Description
CDI IT Solutions has a great opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager. This is a 3 month contract to hire position in Phoenix.



Senior IT Project Manager



Coordinates multiple IT-related projects

Develops and executes system or solution-level program plans and specifications to support of the implementation and release of new products, services, or processes

Manages clearly-defined and focused programs

Directs and organizes cross-functional teams to ensure all deliverables are met

Coordinates multiple projects across multiple disciplines (technology, business, project management) and manages the full lifecycle of assigned programs to achieve deadlines and desired functionality
Collaborates with other Project Managers (both IT and other departments), vendors and other partners who have accountabilities for project execution

Monitors cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the project/projects

Determines and coordinates the sharing of resources among their assigned projects to optimize outcomes

Interface with stakeholders, including external stakeholders

Functions as an advocate to support higher-level management priorities

Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to their teams and direct reports

Education & Experience:


7+ years of IT and business/industry related work experience
3+ years of leadership experience
5+ years managing projects and/or project portfolios
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience

Preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification


Key Responsibility Areas:


Manages multiple IT projects
Ensures integration, coordination, timing, and consistency of the process throughout life cycle
Plan and prioritize sub-projects to meet the overall project/program goals and objectives
Establish consistent project management policies and guidelines for projects
Collaborate with all team members at all levels
Maintain knowledge of external environment and facilitate public relations to support initiatives
Sit on the project review panel and/or act as a liaison with the program’s sponsor
Oversee selection and appointment of services and resources to the sub-projects
Approve the major commitments on behalf of the performing organization
Resolve scope, schedule and resource conflicts.
Facilitate regular reporting, reviews and audits.
Organize the transfer of the entire program/project upon completion
Ensure proper closure and archiving of program records
Assist in the building and managing the project/program management office/function for IT
Assist in the definition and development of enterprise-wide IT project/program management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics
Ensure projects/programs are defined, tracked and communicated in a consistent and effective manner
Incorporate effective change and risk management controls
Partner with IT and business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities, to identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (return on investment, productivity, compliance)..
Direct project/program managers with business case development
Ensure projects within IT portfolios/programs are delivered on time, within budget, and within quality standards
Perform other program/project management duties as assigned


Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of the technology impacts on business strategic direction enabling definition and integration of technical plans supporting the enterprise business functions

Knowledge and expertise in project/program management methodologies and tools

Experience with product/solution/system lifecycles

Expert knowledge of system servers and data network

Knowledge of traditional telephony principals and support

Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise software, server principals and support; Knowledge of HP enterprise products and services:

Knowledge of data communication and network architectures, design, and support

Proficient with Microsoft Project, Project Server, Visio, and SharePoint Servicesdf-tc
