QA Engineer

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts operates and licenses eleven theme parks on three continents. It also operates 35 resort hotels, two luxury cruise ships, and a wide variety of other entertainment offerings.

The Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online (WDPRO) Group oversees all of the online web activities, e-commerce, online attractions and informational sites representing the Walt Disney Company theme parks, resort hotel properties and cruise lines This includes handling all online pre-arrival arrangements, such as bookings. Consumers can also visit sites for exciting online simulations of experiences at theme parks and resorts. Although part of the Walt Disney Internet Group, the online technology group works closely with management at the WDPRO organization.

The Walt Disney Internet Group is part of the Walt Disney Company, one of the most of respected and successful entertainment companies in the world. The company also operates the ABC Television Network; ESPN Sports Network; the ABC Radio Networks; theme parks, resorts and cruise lines; television and radio stations. It provides programming for the cable television industry, publishes daily and weekly newspapers, shopping guides and specialized periodicals. Annual revenues exceed $27 billion.

POSITION SUMMARY

The QA Engineer will work on small and medium size projects. Their role is to perform analysis of requirements and business rules during the requirements phase. Create test documentation during the design phase. Create manual and automated test cases during the development phase and execute those test cases during the test phase. Candidate should have a through understanding and practical experience with white box and black box test solutions. This position also requires the person to work directly with other Analysts and Engineers to establish the health of a project, identify risks, and support the project team during product releases and enhancements. Candidate must be able to work effectively alone or in a team environment. Work with the QA Team to ensure that proper documentation and training material is updated and coincides with current processes. Some travel may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing analysis work and creating QA documentation
  • Running queries to generate test data
  • Developing test cases and scenarios
  • Executing test cases and reporting defects
  • Providing support during UAT

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years software testing experience on web-based applications
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience following testing processes and best practices
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on proper research
  • Understanding of web-based application environments and experience with e-commerce applications

    SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to perform analysis based on requirements, wireframes and design documents
  • Conduct proactive testing for any changes made to program design, database, functionality, etc
  • Create reproducible test results, test scenarios, and test for common problems and errors
  • 1 year experience creating automated scripts
  • 1 year experience using Test Director
  • Experience performing white box testing solutions
  • Proficiency in designing and performing black box test solutions
  • Familar with HTML and XML structures and data
