Function

Assist with the work and evaluate the accuracy of a staff of Clerks and Technicians in the daily operation of a program area. The program areas include Verification, Benefit Recovery and Quality Control. Assist Supervisors with the daily operation of the unit.

Examples of Work Performed

* Participate in the work of the Verification and Benefit Recovery units as required
* Perform quality control reviews of all work products of Verification, Verification Maintenance and Benefit Recovery
* Work Miscellaneous queues (Manual, Duplicate and Final Review) on a daily basis and bring to the attention of the unit Supervisor any persistent problem areas in performance for problem resolution
* Using results of the review, recommend either additional training for the staff or modification of procedures to standardize results
* Conduct monthly staff meetings for review and retraining to enhance productivity
* Process insurer correspondence and perform manual third party billings resulting from change forms
* Suggest procedure changes which enhance performance of tasks under contract while providing the same or better results
* Constantly review procedure manuals with work product to evaluate accuracy and need for training on any procedures which appear to be causing problems
* Bring to the attention of the Supervisor any persistent problem areas in performance for problem resolution
* Analyze procedures to suggest changes which increase efficiency, effectiveness and reliability of work product
* Research problems which arise as a result of the work and provide written suggestions for avoiding the problems in the future
* Review prototypes annually and enter current data into database for staff use
* Other duties as assigneddf-tc
