Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Looking for a talented developer to assist with architecture, design and development of reporting based applications in support of the Fifth Third Call Center. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver technical designs and development of reporting applications based on ASP, Java and relational database technologies. Solutions will be implemented using a wide variety of server and client technologies including ASPs, JSPs, Servlets, Ascential ETL, SQL Server, DB2, Business Objects and Crystal Reports.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in prototyping, design, implementation, and QA phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Design, code, test and implement applications in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with corporate procedures and standards.

  • Analyzes requested changes and performs maintenance to existing reporting based applications.

  • Implements data models, database structure design, backup and recovery processes.

  • Identifies, tests and resolves moderately complex database performance and application issues (e.g., monitoring and tuning).

  • Plays a key role as an individual contributor on projects. Work as part of a project team to determine project requirements, goals, implementation.

  • Continually developing technical expertise through e-learning and classroom training. Keeps current with trends and technological innovations in the banking and IT industry.

  • Develops an understanding of 5/3 Bank's business lines and systems. Works with other development teams across the bank to build new or enhanced reporting based applications.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Good oral and written communication skills.


  • 2+ years experience in software development.


  • Experience with reporting and database tools preferred.


  • Experience with J2EE or Windows based technologies preferred.

    Exp. with Crystal Reports and Business Objects in a development role strongly desired.
