Job Summary

As a Senior Engineer for SAN and Backup/Recovery, the candidate must have an advanced understanding of various tape, disk storage technologies and system backup methodologies. The Backup & Recovery Administrator will assist to architect and implement solutions, procedures and processes to ensure the availability, accessibility, performance, and protection of stored data and system backups. The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and support tasks associated with the backup SAN, disk arrays, backup & recovery applications and tape library technologies. The candidate must be familiar with Disk Replication, Data DeDuplication and a broad range of backup and Recovery techniques and products.

Job Responsibilities

Design, configure, and install SAN/Storage/Backup infrastructure. Maintain SAN/Storage/Backup environments, Support SAN/Storage/Backup infrastructure, experience in Capacity Planning, and SAN and backup performance monitoring.

Testing and evaluation of new storage technologies and backup solutions and Disaster recovery planning experience required.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree + 7 years or MS/MA + 5 years or relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree required.

Prior experience in SAN and Backup/Recovery advanced skills required, i.e. various tape, disk storage technologies and system backup methodologies.

Ongoing training to increase skills in the SAN, storage and backup technologies will be essential in this position given the complex environment and critical nature of corporate system data.

Successful candidate will have experience that includes one or more segments in the required field of expertise, specifically SAN and backup technologies combined with either Windows or UNIX administration.

Relocation is not available for this position.
