Job Summary

Provide senior technical leadership as part of the SAP Basis team, providing support for the Wyeth SAP technical infrastructure. Ensure timely and effective delivery of infrastructure services for the successful completion of business-critical IT solutions. Work closely with either IS relationship managers or infrastructure owners to develop service delivery alternatives, time-lines, cost estimates and proposals. Manage delivery of infrastructure solutions. Primary Responsibility is for technical delivery of SAP components hosted on Windows servers

Job Responsibilities

Install, customize, and maintain the SAP application software for the SAP Systems supporting the ERP systems, including SAP Internet Transaction Servers, SAP Web servers, SAP Citrix Terminal Servers and the SAP Knowledge Warehouse as well as other Windows-based applications supporting the SAP environment (RWD, BackOffice).

Develop and implement those SAP components hosted on Windows servers to ensure adequate service levels and a high degree of performance, recoverability, integrity and availability.Perform day-to-day administration on those components and application specific areas of their host systems. Administer and monitor the SAP components and related portions of their host systems. Track usage and determine when additional licenses or systems will be required. Shuffle systems as necessary to support all personnel on various versions during upgrades. Work with Microsoft Server Technologies team to ensure delivery of new servers as necessary. Management of new client software, Internet Transaction Server instances and settings, and third party SAP utilities. Troubleshoot and research issues resulting from complex interactions between SAP components, third party components, and operating system parameters. Perform desktop integration / certification for any SAP specific desktop applications including any necessary Citrix versions.

Develop overall project direction for mid to large-sized projects. Develop individual project plans and coordinate activities of other staff members. Complete the requirements with no appreciable direction.

Develop and implement procedures to guide support personnel in required activities.

Provide technical support as needed to applications and client personnel.

Basic Qualifications

The incumbent is required to possess a BS/MS + 12 years work experience or relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree. The degree in Computer Science , Engineering or Academic Equivalent is required.

The candidate must possess advanced knowledge including management and deployment of Microsoft NTServers, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop deployment, a working knowledge of file and print server management, and a intermediate knowledge of managing and deploying Microsoft Web Servers. Technical leadership for SAP Basis supportinhg ERP systems , SAP Internet Transaction Servers, SAP Citrix Terminal Servers and SAP Knowledge Warehouse is required.

Ongoing training to increase skills in the Microsoft NT Server, Web Server, SAP technical administration and Oracle on NT will be essential in this position given the complex environment and inter-dependencies between the OS, Web Server database and application software.

The work should include a segment in the required field of expertise, specifically, Microsoft NT Server and Web server technical administration.

The incumbent must be PC literate, and able to function effectively in a Windows, Novell, LAN, and WAN environment.

Relocation is not available for this position.
