GENERAL FUNCTION: 
Performs security analysis and administration functions to ensure appropriate security while enforcing compliance with corporate policies and standards.  Supports the implementation and administration of information security standards, practices and procedures.   Understands how the pieces of the provisioning architecture work together and the functions and limitations of each component.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
· Fulfills requests for access to Fifth Third computer systems and/or information accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Researches and resolves complex information security issues.
· Acts as technical expert on more than one of the following platforms: UNIX, Windows, Tandem, Mainframe.  Designs solutions for platforms of expertise and across disparate systems.  Is responsible for ensuring platforms of expertise adhere to security policies and standards.
· Responsible for developing, implementing and managing system security solutions based on customer and Information Security requirements.
· Acts as a consultant for people inside or outside of Information Security on Information Security systems, processes and concerns.  Functions as a technical lead on security projects.  Provides support to senior members of the Information Security team.  Provides user and technical support for security administration processes.
· Monitors systems and conducts reviews of logs, reports, system settings and/or user permissions to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.  Researches identified issues.
· Anticipates, identifies and defines problems.  Seeks root causes.  Develops and implements practical and timely solutions.
· Documents procedures, best practices and proposals.
· Provides cross training, coaching and mentoring to other members of the team.
· Assists with team workflow management.
· Proactively investigates and identifies process improvement opportunities, including ways to increase the level of security for Fifth Third systems and information.
· Responds professionally (verbally or e-mail) to customer situations of a complex, non-routine nature requiring deviation from standard procedures. Follows up with customers in a timely manner.
· Builds both formal and informal professional networks.  Maintains and extends networks within, across and outside of organizational boundaries.  Obtains and shares information, ideas and problems.  Solicits advice, support, championship, sponsorship and commitment that result in smooth transitions of change and the development of mutually acceptable solutions.
· Applies quality assurance and testing concepts and methodologies.
· Promotes implementation of various security initiatives.  Supports security policy and standards development.
· Consistently demonstrates quality performance while maintaining department service level agreements.
· Effectively promotes the implementation and administration of the Bancorp’s Information Security policies and procedures.
· Solicits information on enterprise direction, goals and industry competitive environment to determine how own function can add value to the organization and customers.  Makes decisions and recommendations clearly linked to the organization’s strategy and goals, reflecting an awareness of external dynamics.
· Available for 24X7 on call support.
· Performs other duties as required.

Experience/Skills


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



· Undergraduate degree or equivalent with either a minimum of 5 years of information technology experience or 3 years of information security experience. 
· Strong knowledge of more than one of the following: UNIX, Windows, Tandem or Mainframe; good scripting skills desired. 
· Superior verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel throughout the organization. 
· Proven ability to handle difficult customer service situations professionally.
· Excellent organization, problem solving and time management skills and attention to details. Must be able to work on multiple tasks concurrently and reprioritize work independently as needed.
· Self starter.  Proven ability to set own direction.  Ability to assist in departmental strategy development.
· Influence skills with people at all levels.
· Thorough understanding of Information Security policies, standards, best practices and procedures.
