Description
Education: BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. Required Experience: 5-8 years of experience in software development using C or C++ in a UNIX environment to include: requirements formulation, preliminary and detailed design, code and unit test, and system level integration and test. Top candidates will have experience developing embedded applications for execution on airborne platforms. Specific functional areas of interest include: system level control, self-test, data acquisition, and data transfer. Experience with low-level hardware control, TCP/ IP or messaging middleware and real-time operating systems (VxWorks) on a PowerPC/ VME back plane is desired. Familiarity with the following is a plus: Objected oriented analysis and design, use of Unified Modeling Language to specify and construct software systems, software project scheduling and software cost estimation is a plus. Description: Position entails all phases of software production including project planning, requirements, design and development of control and processing. Candidates will be responsible for the development of design specifications, software coding, debugging, unit testing and system level integration and testing. Development will be performed in C/ C++ and targeted for an embedded system on a VxWorks/ PowerPC platform.
