This position reports to the Manager of Technical Services in the Information Technology department.The Systems Engineer designs, develops, maintains, and supports existing and future hardware and software solutions in the area of systems engineering and administration to support the dynamic needs of the organization.Key Responsibilities: * Proposes designs; administers and supports enterprise domain, storage, email, Citrix, and overall server systems infrastructure * Works cross-functionally with other IT and business partners to help design, implement, and administer the company's Enterprise Applications, Retail and POS systems * Evaluates current and new systems technology, developing solutions and implementing changes as necessary * Manages systems projects by developing detailed project plans, acquiring necessary resources, and monitoring progress and providing regular status reports to upper management * Provides customer service and training to internal and external customers as necessary * Provides timeliness response to service requests and thoroughness in problem solving * Develops and mentors peers and junior-level administrators/engineersRequirements: * Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role with 4-6 years in the industry * Must have valid & current MCP certification and is actively pursuing the MCSE certification * Must possess a well-rounded experience with emerging systems technology, such as virtualization, SAN, application delivery, linux, etc. * Strong proficiency in VMware ESX (VI3), Windows 2003, Citrix Presentation servers, Active Directory 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2003, IIS and SQL 2000/2005 servers * Proven experience in designing and maintaining complex Active Directory, Exchange Messaging, Microsoft SMS, High-Availability (i.e. Clustering), SAN storage, Backup/Recovery, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS technology * Experience with Linux or other Unix-variant systems * Experience with IBM Blade servers, IBM Blade Centers, and SAN technology * Experience with system monitoring and event correlation tools such as Whatsup Gold, IBM Tivoli, MRTG and/or NAGIOS * Experience with Application Packaging/Deployment and Patch Management solutions * Must possess a fundamental understanding of Windows registry * Must possess ability to write professional project plans, proposals, and process & procedures * Familiar with ITIL and other industry operational best-practices * MCSE 2000 or greater with VCP or equivalent industry certifications * Familiar with network load-balancers, Citrix Access Gateways, SSL VPN solutions, firewalls, routers, and switches. * Familiar with all aspects of Systems Operations Support * Willing to travel up to 10% of timedf-tc
