Description
Sr. Data Communications Engineer - Perform in-depth research and lab assessment activities as a recognized hands-on expert in prototype (hardware and software) development and evaluation of wireless/wireline IP/Ethernet data transport network systems (including access, metro, and core networks). Support a team of telecommunications engineers to research, design, develop and test various wireless and wireline transport technologies supporting advanced wireless access networks (EV-DO, WiMax, or alike). Assist in project and budgetary management. Develop test plans. Document key findings in technical reports.

Experience/Skills
M.S. (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related field. 5 years experience as a Telecommunications Engineer, specifically with hardware, software, or architectural design and development of wireless or wireline Ethernet and IP network systems. Demonstrated ability with laboratory assessment and prototype development for emerging telecom technologies, including Circuit emulation over data networks, Ethernet/IP/MPLS, fixed wireless radio systems, and/or mobile access solutions. U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.

Experience with Smartbits, Ethernet switches, IP routers or other data network elements and testing tool. Working knowledge with one or more advanced wireless access technologies (EV-DO, WiMax, 802.11n), especially in RF and air interface. Strong skills with project management. Excellent in oral and written communications.
