Description
As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you must have experience administering Oracle 9i and 8i on UNIX and/or Linux platforms. You will have a minimum 5 years experience in Oracle Database Administration with a minimum 5 years overall Information Technology experience.
Accountabilities:
The Senior Oralce Database Administrator is responsible for on-going support, administration and maintenance of multiple production and development database systems. The Senior DBA is charged with proactively identifying and averting problems or trends which could threaten database performance or availability. Will serve as an escalation point of contact for Database Administrators, provide technical support for development projects and manage the database life cycle. Will will work independently or with others to plan and complete a diverse array of database and infrastructure tasks ranging from disaster recovery planning to data mapping and conversion.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of database administration including installing, configuring, and patching databases, backing up and recovering databases, troubleshooting database and Oracle networking errors, resolving database performance issues and assisting with application tuning efforts.
- Serve as an escalation point of contact for database problems/issues.
- Proactively identify and avert troublesome trends or problems that could degrade system performance or availability.
- Design and implement database and/or infrastructure solutions to further the objectives of the business and department.
- Support development projects by managing database changes through the application development lifecycle, maintaining development environments, data modeling, and SQL & PL/SQL development and tuning.
- Administer and support the reporting and business intelligence systems.

Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Oracle Database Administration and minimum 5 years overall Information Technology experience.
- Must have experience administering Oracle 9i and 8i on UNIX and/or Linux platforms.
