The Information Systems division of Edward Jones currently has an opening for a Senior Technical Consultant.

Responsibilities:
-Advise Information Systems business and infrastructure teams on the effective use of the technology within the enterprise architecture.
-Provide timely and appropriate documentation of work, such as project issues, deliverables, technology analysis, recommendations, and technical action plans.
-Achieve and maintain an excellent understanding of the firm's current architecture and an awareness of technological and financial-services trends.
-Ensure that tools and best practices are in place and adhered to for technologies.
-Lead technical analysis and design of architectural solutions and recommendations.
-Identify opportunities to improve the architecture and propose recommendations.
-Prepare recommendations for Information Systems initiative.

Requirements:
-A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent experience.
-Seven-plus years of experience in database systems implementation (DB2, IDMS, Oracle) on large-scale initiatives.
-Applied experience in some combination of Mainframe systems, client/server systems, n-tiered architectures, relational database technologies, or application development.
-Extensive multi platform experience (in a large scale IS environment) is required.
-Data Sharing and Sysplex experience is required.
-Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
-Specific and demonstrated area of technical expertise.
-Experience with architecture analysis and design.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Effective working in a team or as an individual contributor.
