Title: Sr Technical Marketing Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: FT Permenent

Rates: Varies with experience.

Job Description:

This Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) position will be focused on next-generation Carrier Ethernet product line.
The position will primarily act as a bridge between Product Management and Sales, but will also interface to Product Development and Corporate Marketing organizations.
The goal of this position will be to help drive
sales of this next-generation product line and assisting sales teams in understanding and promoting the benefits and value proposition of the product line to customers.




Creating technical marketing content including application notes, technical white papers, presentations, and demonstrations

Respond to customer or field inquiries,
assist in responding to RFIs/RFPs for the product line, and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, SEs, Engineers as required

Perform competitive analysis and dispense this information to the field.
Interface with the corporate Business Intelligence department in this capacity.
Hands-on skills to perform competitive analysis testing are a major plus.

Creating and maintaining field-facing performance and scalability guidelines for the next-generation Carrier Ethernet product line



Qualifications:



BA/BS (Computer Sciene or Engineering preferred, MBA or equivalent a plus

7+ years of experience in a technical or marketing position in networking / telecommunications

Ability to work in a collaborative way with various groups within the organization

Highly motivated and driven attitude.
Perform responsibilities in a pro-active manner without the need for frequent supervision

Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills

Knowledge of service provider network architectures and services.

Business applications such as Metro Ethernet Forum ELINE, ELAN, ETREE services and
IP VPNs

Residential applications such as Internet, IPTV, and VoIP

Mobile infrastructure and services including 2G/3G, WiMAX, LTE

Extensive experience with networking technologies especially Ethernet, IP and MPLS (e.g. IPv4/v6, BGP-4, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, RSVP-TE, PIM-SM, IGMPv2/3, GRE, DHCP, RADIUS)

General knowledge of other technologies such as SONET/SDH, Optical Networking (OTN/WDM), PON, DSL Wireless/Mobile, Network Management (SNMP, Java, XML), ATM is highly desired

Strong grasp of Quality of Service concepts and techniquesdf-tc

Experience/Skills
MPLS (e.g. IPv4/v6, BGP-4, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, RSVP-TE, PIM-SM, IGMPv2/3, GRE, DHCP, RADIUS),marketing,sales
