Job Responsibilities:

This senior software engineering position designs, builds and maintains software which supports the need for segments/BU/enterprise I.T. application development organizations to deliver reliable, secure, highly-available applications. This is done by taking advantage of the economic and quality benefits associated with component reuse. To ensure the highest possible degree of overall system availability, the components produced by this position integrate security/policy enforcement and other system management and performance instrumentation capabilities as part of the design.

Required Qualifications:
Knowledge/Requirements:

  • Expert to superior knowledge/experience in object-oriented concepts such as abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.
  • Expert to superior knowledge/experience in component-based development (CBD) concepts such as components, component models, component infrastructures, and interfaces.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge/experience in J2EE, EJB, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, XML/XSL and/or ASP.NET design and development including C#.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge/experience in developing Web Services using Service-Oriented concepts, standards and implementation.
  • Advanced to expert database skills (DB2 or MSSQL Server preferred).
  • Advanced to expert knowledge/experience in developing manageable, high-performance, and massively scalable application architectures distributed across multiple, heterogeneous platforms (e.g., hardware, operating system, server software, browsers, etc.).
  • Advanced to expert expertise in Java application servers
  • High school graduate or equivalent.


    Desired Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Information Technology or Business related field
  • 5 to 7 years experience in J2EE (EJB, JSP, Servlet, JDBC, XML/XSL)
  • 3+ years experience as a senior application engineer
  • Expert expertise in Websphere or JBoss application servers
  • Expert expertise using UML and Design Patterns for full development life-cycle
  • Experience with Log4j, Ant, JUnit, XDoclet, Eclipse IDE, and JMS
  • Significant applied experience successfully integrating system and software components on similar endeavors.df-tc
