Our client, an industry leader is searching for a top notch Senior WAN Engineer for their Information Systems Group to join a winning team! This is a 3 month contract to hire opportunity; candidates must be interested in converting to full time after the contract duration.

Responsible for all aspects of the ATM backbone and data communications. This includes planning, installation, maintenance and management of Wide Area Network (WAN) links and related peripherals, including coordination of interconnection to the organization's other WAN/LAN links.
Scheduling, organizing and performing routine maintenance procedures related to WAN and Internet access hardware as required, working in such a manner as to induce a minimum of user service interruption; tracking availability of WAN services.
Develops reports and tables as needed by management showing WAN performance (by location, protocol, outage, etc.); tracking availability of Internet services.
Providing technical leadership as a member of the team responsible for the smooth installation of wide area network and enterprise business applications.
Assisting with installation and configuration of LAN switches, routers, firewalls, and other network systems following guidelines appropriate for the particular installation.
Coordinating data network circuit adds and changes with data network carriers and regional Network Engineers to effect systems updates with minimum adverse impact on users; Performing firewall administration tasks.

Experience/Skills
To be considered, candidates must have the following:

Technical certification as Cisco, Novell and or NT expert expected - CCNA preferred.
Strong experience with ATM WAN using CISCO light stream switches as well as, CISCO Pix, firewall, and CISCO 6500.
High level protocol analysis, intrusion detection.
Experience with Nortel PBX and voice communication experience.
Must know how to work in a NOVELL & MS Windows server environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent IT Project skills.
