Description
Trasys is currently seeking multiple contract to hire Server Hardware Technicians.

Locations:
(3) Alpharetta, GA
(2) Stamford, CT

Job Purpose

This position carries prime responsibility for the physical installation of servers; including, but not limited to: locating hardware as it is received, configuring hardware (installing components, etc.), racking, and network copper and fiber cabling (from switch to server) per standards. In addition to a wide range of server technical skills, this position requires a holistic view of the entire network functionality in order to spot integration issues. Ability to manage a large workload with a short turnaround is key to success.

Essential Functions
50% - Install and Configure Server/Midrange Hardware
Facilities Assignment:
Physical location assignment and documentation based upon standards by customer and site.

Physical Installation:
Physical racking of server equipment. Physical connections of server equipment to power and network.
Physical equipment receipt provided by customer and business units.

40% - Run network and storage structured cabling (copper & fiber)
Cabling:
Physical copper and fiber connections installation from servers to network for purposes of primary, secondary, backup, console ports and storage.
Install required cabling to server devices from network, storage, and/or shared console port devices.

10% - Troubleshoot issues related to server hardware and cabling

Education

Two years of College or Technical School resulting in an Associate's Degree or equivalent



Experience / Background

1 to 2 years experience in data center environment or related experience

Accreditation / Certification / Licenses


One or more of the following required:

BICSI Level 1 Certification

A+ Certification

Network + certification

MCP or MCSA, and CCNA


Previous Job Experience

Hardware Technical Support experience.

Datacenter familiarity and experience.

Basic network design and troubleshooting experience.

Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to terminate, install and test copper and fiber cable in Data Center environment

Working knowledge of copper and fiber testing equipment.

Familiarity with and understanding of complex LAN/WAN in Data Center environments

Strong troubleshooting skills.

Must routinely lift and install computer equipment.
