Introduction:

This position is part of the IT Professional Services organization in Information Technology. Specifically, this position serves as the lead for the Siebel Application architecture. This role collaborates with the Project Managers, Autodesk Business units, Production Support, QA, training, and release management. The Siebel Application Architect will define and implement the Siebel application and overall application integration design for projects. This role would review and approve existing and proposed Siebel application and legacy application interface design for industry and Siebel best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with other Autodesk Siebel Competency Center (ASCC) members, Siebel Systems, IT, QA, training, and component (e.g. See Beyond, Sub Center, etc.) teams to ensure a complete and sound end-to-end system architecture
  • Ensures the different Siebel project teams are working together in a coordinated fashion to effective role out the Siebel product. Ensures off-shore development is planned, set-up, and delivered effectively.
  • Responsible for technical architecture decisions that span Siebel, the middleware and the Interface layer of the legacy applications, including SAP.
  • Drive Siebel application and interface design related technical decisions for each release
  • Coordinate planning for all PROJECT release content, and disseminate decisions
  • Assure application design complies with industry and Siebel best practices
  • Assure business process functional, performance, reports, and security requirements have been adequately addressed through application and integrated system design
  • Assure KPIs are adequately addressed through application and integrated system design
  • Assure builds adequately address application and integrated system design
  • Work with technical leads from each project team to identify major technical risk areas, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Provide input for project task estimates, as requested by Autodesk Project Managers.
  • Act as a mentor for all ASCC staff members for Siebel application and Siebel application integration related technical matters. As the most senior technologist in the Autodesk Siebel Competency Center serves as the "go-to" person for all technical issues.
  • Collect and analyze functional, performance, reports, and security requirements in consonance with applicable business flows. Generate high level / conceptual application design for these requirements. Translate existing requirements and design to â??to-beâ?? system design. Determine the configured and custom components necessary to satisfy the design. Document the initiating cause of each component. Document the relationships between configured and customized components with each business flow in which the component is initiated. Document the relationships between configured and customized components.
  • Work with the Analysts to assure the traceability of application functional, performance, and security requirements to the business process steps in which they are satisfied, such that QA regression testing analysis may easily determine which components in which business process flows will need to be retested when an error is detected that effects previously tested business flows.
  • Assist team members with application and integration design, configuration, and customization.
  • Analyses new technical development tools and provides efficient solutions to existing processes through re-engineering or introduces development process improvements.
  • Reviews new product releases and identifies new functionality that could impact current implementations or could be used for future enhancements.


Required Experience and Skill set:

  • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Business or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 8-10 years progressive experience in software development / support of mission-critical systems required.
  • Hands on experience with Siebel 7.7 application and data model
  • Siebel 7.7 certification
  • Strong knowledge of business processes.
  • Comprehension of industry and Siebel application best practices for software product life cycles and the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on technical environments required.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative environment to build consensus and to manage conflicting priorities.
