Introduction:

This position is part of the IT Professional Services organization in Information Technology. This position collaborates with the Project Managers, Autodesk Business units, Production Support, QA, training, and release management. The Siebel application integration technical lead is responsible for defining and implementing the Siebel application synchronous and asynchronous integration design for assigned projects. Reviews, approves, and implements existing and proposed application integration design, and generates and implements, new application integration design for compliance to system business process functional, performance, and security requirements. Responsible for assigned Siebel application customization and configuration required for synchronous and asynchronous integration to legacy applications and databases, as well as any Siebel Object Manager calls generated from legacy systems. Is familiar with integrating with UAN on Tibco.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with and provide input to other Autodesk Siebel Competency Center (ASCC) members, Siebel Systems, and IT teams to accomplish this set of tasks
  • Lead design effort for application integration components for each project. These integration components will include those resident within the Siebel application, as well as those required by the Siebel â??sideâ?? of integrated middleware.
  • Assure business process functional, performance, and security requirements have been adequately addressed through system integration design
  • Assure KPIs are adequately addressed through system design.
  • Assure builds adequately address system design in consonance with disseminated release strategy.
  • Identify major technical risk areas, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Provide input for project task estimates, as requested by Autodesk Project Managers
  • Act as mentor for Siebel application integration programmers staff members
  • Generate high level / conceptual system integration design for functional, performance, and security requirements. Translate existing integration requirements and design to â??to-beâ?? system integration design. Map data elements from legacy to the Siebel application UI and data model. Determine the configured and custom integration components necessary to satisfy the design. Document the initiating cause of each integration component. Document the relationships between configured and customized integration components with each business flow in which the component is initiated. Document the relationships between configured and customized integration components. Generate and document detail integration component design. These integration components may include:

    • Siebel business services, Workflow, Siebel EAI, eScript
    • Siebel EIM
    • Tibco Business works experience (nice to have)
    • Siebel VBCs
    • Siebel Object Manager calls
    • Siebel HTTP Adaptor
    • Any Middleware integration to Siebel (nice to have)


  • Work with Business Analysts to assure the traceability of batch and real time application integration functional, performance, and security requirements to the business process steps in which they are satisfied, such that QA regression testing analysis may easily determine which components in which business process flows will need to be retested when an error is detected that effects previously tested business flows.
  • Configure and customize Siebel application integration components and the Siebel â??sideâ?? of integrated middleware, using appropriate Siebel tools and scripting, and middleware. Generate and utilize rigorous unit (component) testing procedures.



Required Experience and Skill set:

  • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Business or Computer Science required.
  • Minimum 12 years progressive experience in software development / support of mission-critical systems required.
  • Have a very strong grasp of latest integration tools, technologies and market trends
  • Hands on experience with Siebel 7.5/7.7 application integration and
  • Siebel 7.0/7.7 certification
  • Strong knowledge of business processes.
  • Comprehension of industry and Siebel application best practices for software product life cycles and the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on technical environments required.
